CIFS/NFS authentication/name service failures from SecD due to memory pressure with LDAPS or StartTLS

Issue

  • CIFS and NFS authentication and name services fail
    • This can result in a loss of data access for CIFS and NFS and may initially be seen as latency or slowness for these protocols
  • SecD logs may show Mutex being held for a long period
    • Example SecD:
      CRIT :  Mutex svcDiscoveryMutex held for 7244 seconds  { in unlock() at src/utils/secd_lock_maps.cpp:177 }
  • EMS logs of various kinds may contain was dropped by SecD due to memory pressure  
    • Example EMS: 
      secd: secd.rpc.server.request.dropped:debug]: The RPC secd_rpc_auth_get_creds sent from NBLADE_NFS was dropped by SecD due to memory pressure.
