Event Summary

This AutoSupport message is sent when ONTAP has detected an inconsistency to the WAFL filesystem in a volume or an aggregate.

  • There are numerous possible causes of WAFL INCONSISTENT, such as a previous PANIC, RAID VOLUME FAILED or MULTIPLE CHECKSUM ERRORS.

  • It is essential to carefully troubleshoot the underlying cause for a WAFL INCONSISTENT condition before any corrective actions can be taken.

Note:

  • If a volume is marked as WAFL INCONSISTENT, it will take that volume offline and may reboot.
  • If an aggregate is marked as WAFL INCONSISTENT, this will also offline any volumes contained in that aggregate and then reboot (panic).
