After a change to name-mapping rules, CIFS user is still getting "access denied"

Issue

  • Initially, a CIFS user was mapping to an undesired Unix user
  • After making the requisite changes to the name mapping rules for the user, the user still encounters "Access Denied"
  • Running the cifs session show -show-win-unix-creds command indicates that the user is still mapped according to the old/incorrect rules
