Data access is affected due to duplicate IP address

Issue

  • CIFS clients cannot access share.
  • NFS client fails to mount a volume.
  • iSCSI host experiences disconnect to storage.
  • Periodically the SMB Connections are disconnected and not reconnected.
  • CIFS and NFS requests are not actually reaching to ONTAP but going to the other device having same IP address.
  • Duplicate IP address error messages can usually be seen in the event logs.
