"cifs domain discovered-servers show/reset-servers" command times out

Issue

  • Unable to show or clear list of discovered domain servers
  • The command to show or reset the list of discovered domain controllers for the SVM fails with timeout error

Example:

Cluster::> cifs domain discovered-servers show
Warning: Unable to list entries on node cluster-01. Timeout: Operation "cifs_domain_discovered_server_byname_iterator::next_imp()" took longer than 25 seconds to complete [from mgwd on node "cluster-01" (VSID: -1) to mgwd at 10.11.12.13]

Cluster::> vserver active-directory discovered-servers reset-servers
Error: command failed: The command to re-discover servers failed on Vserver SVM. Reason: RPC: Timed out.

  • LDAP error message can also be seen in EMS logs every 4 hours during the domain discovery process

Thu May 28 04:16:48 UTC [Cluster_01: secd: secd.ldap.noServers:EMERGENCY]: None of the LDAP servers configured for Vserver (SVM_TEST) are currently accessible via the network for LDAP service type (Service: LDAP (Active Directory), Operation: SiteDiscovery).
