SCV unable to backup vCLS VMs after updating vCenter to 7.0.x

  • SnapCenter Plug-In for VMware vSphere(SCV) 4.5 and above
  • VMware vCenter 7.0.1 and above

Issue

  • After updating vCenter to 7.0.x, unable to backup datastore with vCLS VMs.
  • wfe_<job_id>.log shows warning and error:

WARN    c.n.w.m.WorkflowExecutor                 : Activity (Quiescing Applications) of Workflow (WorkflowExecutor), 
Failed with error: Unable to quiesce on SCV: Exception occurred when quiescing virtual machines: vCLS(XX), vCLS (XX) ......
Please check 'Create virtual machine snapshot' task on vSphere Web Client or SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware vSphere logs for detailed error message.

ERROR   c.n.w.r.SCVBackupServiceImpl             : Unable to quiesce on SCV: 
Exception occurred when quiescing virtual machines: vCLS(XX), vCLS (XX) .......

  • vmcntrol_<job_id>.log shows warning:
