How can I calculate effective capacity for block data?
Applies to
NetApp Element software
Answer
Total cluster cluster capacity - cluster metadata capacity = total capacity for block data
Example:
For a 6 H610S-4 storage node cluster:
- 72 total drives
- 6 metadata drives
- 3.84 TB per drive
Total cluster capacity = 72 * 3.84 TB = 276.48 TB
Cluster metadata capacity = 6 * 3.84 TB = 23.04 TB
Total capacity for block data = 276.48 TB - 23.04 TB = 253.44 TB
