Issue

Overview

Element Software generates various alerts when Remote Replication between clusters has been interrupted.

These alerts appear in the cluster UI (https://<MVIP>) and ActiveIQ, and have various causes and solutions.

Specific replication errors

disconnectedRemoteNode

  • Remote nodes are not connected via the cluster network. Ping the remote nodes using jumbo frames to test connectivity. Disconnected nodes: []

disconnectedClusterPair

  • One of the clusters in a pair may have become misconfigured or disconnected. Remove the local pairing and retry pairing the clusters. Disconnected Cluster Pairs: [ID's]. Misconfigured Cluster Pairs: [ID's]

remoteRepClusterFull

  • The volumes have paused remote replication because the target storage cluster is too full. To resolve this fault, free up some space on the target storage cluster.

remoteRepSnapshotClusterFull

  • The volumes have paused remote replication of snapshots because the target storage cluster is too full. To resolve this fault, free up some space on the target storage cluster.

remoteRepSnapshotsExceededLimit

  • The following volumes have paused remote replication of snapshots because the target cluster volume has exceeded its snapshot limit: [source volume ID <ID> cluster pair ID <ID> remote cluster <cluster> target volume ID <ID>].
