Why is MPIO Setting in Windows with iSCSI, path verify enabled (PVE) set to 0

Answer

  • This is a registry value set and is just one option you can set at the host OS layer effectively probing the target on all paths every 30 seconds.  0 disables this feature and 1 enables it. 
  • Set  to 0 by Windows Unified Host Utilities 7.1 and  set to 1 in version 7.2 ( Please check latest documentation for any change in this . )
    1. HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\mpio\Parameters\PathVerifyEnabled
