Answer

Setup ONTAP handled retention for the SnapVault tasks instead of Snap Creator handled retention.
On Snap Creator set:  NTAP_SNAPVAULT_NODELETE=Y

Additional Information

If Snap Creator performs the retention tasks it will as well wait for the SnapVault to finish and this does take more resources and time than an offloaded retention.
