  • Load-sharing mirror (LSM)

Answer

Load-sharing mirror (LSM) relationship is updated on the following timings:

  • Time for a scheduled update
  • When a manual update by snapmirror update-ls-set is performed
  • When a mount/unmount operation against a volume in an SVM where the SVM root volume is protected by a LSM
    • this refers to when the SVM mounts the volume to a namespace/junction path, not to be confused with when an NFS client mounts the volume to a mountpoint over the network
  • ‘volume create’ command that includes ‘junction-path’

Note: An issue in ONTAP 9.13.1 can result in volume mount/unmount operations failing to update the Load-Sharing Mirror. This issue is tracked in BUG 1567467.
