Command "snapmirror release" fails with the message "...the owning Job Manager is temporarily unreachable."

Applies to

  • ONTAP 9.3 and earlier
  • ONTAP Select 9.3 and earlier
  • One or more SnapMirror relationships exist between an ONTAP 9.x source and an ONTAP Select destination

Issue

  • Commands such as snapmirror list-destinationstake a very long time to complete (more than 60 seconds.)
  • The snapmirror releasecommand does not work.
  • In job historyoutput, the snapmirror release command is associated with the message "has been queued but the owning Job Manager is temporarily unreachable."
  • Without the ability to complete snapmirror release the perception may be that cleanup-related tasks are not possible.
