Applies to

  • ONTAP 9.3+
  • SnapMirror
  • SnapLock
  • SnapLock for SnapVault
  • OnCommand Unified Manager(OCUM)

Answer

  • Yes, but only for committing snapshots from a non-SnapLock volume to a SnapLock volume
  • Vaulting snapshots from a non-SnapLock source to a SnapLock destination is known as SnapLock for SnapVault
  • However, manual or application transferred snapshots outside of the rules of the SnapMirror Policy will not be locked with SnapLock protection
  • The Protection workflow of OCuM does not support to add/subscribe members to a SnapLock resource pool if they are not of the same SnapLock type
