Answer

  • Special SCSQL backup files for full backup and transaction log only backup.
  • A transaction log backup is a record of the database changes that have occurred since the last transaction log backup.
  • SCSQL supports transaction log backups in order to provide Up to the minute (UTM)  backup and to recover the transactions committed since the most recent full backup
  • SCSQL creates a backup of a transaction log by copying transaction log data to a file in the Host Log Directory (HLD).
  • Transaction log backup files are named using the following convention:

<HLD_Directory>/<DB_Name>/<Date_Time>.TRB

Additional Information

TRB files are sequence files, breaking the sequence might cause in backup/restore failures
