VSS capable backup programs create GUID Snapshots on ONTAP LUN Volumes

Issue

What using third party Backup programs like CommVault or Symantec NetBackup to backup the entire host, Snapshots like "{GUID}" are created, followed by a clone of the Volume, when that backup completes normally.
 
Both that Snapshot and possibly a clone may remain behind after the Backup.
