Unable to clone or restore SQL database(s) due to status "Not available for backup"

Applies to

  • SnapCenter Server (SC) 4.3.1
  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Microsoft SQL Server (SCSQL) 4.3.1
  • Failover Cluster (FC)

Issue

  • SQL database(s) have Overall Status Not available for backup in the Resources - Database view of the SC GUI
  • When the affected database is clicked the following message is seen in the Database Details:

Not available for backup. DB is not on Netapp storage, auto-close is enabled or in recovery mode

  • Backups are not affected and run successfully
