SnapCenter vSphere backups failing on one datastore in resource group

SnapCenter plug-in for VMware 4.x (SCV)

Issue

SCV backups are failing for one or more datastores in a resource group whereas others are completing successfully:
  • Error seen on the WFE  backup job:
    Connecting to scv url: https://localhost:8144/scbr/smcoreplugin/discoverResources
    Unable to discover resources on SCV: com.vmware.vijava.vim25.ManagedObjectNotFound
    Exception in discover resources com.netapp.wfe.model.ApiException: Unable to discover resources on SCV: com.vmware.vijava.vim25.ManagedObjectNotFound
  • And in VMCONTROL log:
    c.n.a.d.StorageDiscoveryManager          : [JobId:67030] java.lang.RuntimeException: com.vmware.vijava.vim25.ManagedObjectNotFound
  • Another error may also be seen:
    2021-09-15 08:46:19.976 WARN scvhostname --- [ Thread-88] c.n.w.m.WorkflowExecutor : Activity (Discovering Resources) of Workflow (WorkflowExecutor), Failed with error: Unable to discover resources on SCV: Storage discovery failed, received error during operation: java.lang.NullPointerException. Please refer to operation logs for more details.
