Applies to

  • SnapCenter Plugin for Oracle (SCO)
  • SnapCenter Plugin for Unix (SCU)

Issue

  • After SCO host reboot, drive assignment for volume labels (e.g.sdx) are no longer static and change randomly, which requires a user to reference UUIDs (universally unique identifier) instead of volume labels for the correct mount points
  • This can cause SCO operations to fail with following error, seen in SnapCenter SPL logs:

2020-01-06T00:45:28.0000300-06:00 ERROR qtp119445056-14132 c.n.o.c.s.r.RecoveryService - An exception thrown during the execution of method recover and the exception message is ORACLE-30036: Recovery of lcdev failed due to the following error(s): [ORA-00308: cannot open archived log, ORA-27037: unable to obtain file status, ORA-01547: warning: RECOVER succeeded but OPEN RESETLOGS would get error below, ORA-01195: online backup of file 1 needs more recovery to be consistent].
