SCV appliance is offline and will not boot

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for VMWare vSphere (SCV) - OVA only
  • NetApp Data Broker (NDB)

Issue

  • Within the vSphere Console, the SCV virtual appliance fails to boot to the login prompt:

  • Upon pressing Alt+F2, the console may display the following message:
    fsck failed. Please repair manually....
    
    A maintenance shell will now be started CONTROL-D Will terminate this shell and resume system boot
    
    Give root password for maintenance
    
    (or type Control-D to continue)
