Applies to

  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Oracle Database (SCO) 4.3, 4.4
  • SAN or VMDK configuration

Issue

  • When running an SCO verification job, a symbolic link (symlink) to /dev/null is created in /etc/systemd/system but it is not deleted automatically.
  • The name of the symlink is including "var-opt-snapcenter-sco-backup_verify" like the following example.

Example:

[root@rhel2 system]# ls -l /etc/systemd/system/var-opt-snapcenter-sco-backup_*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9 Dec  9 02:04 /etc/systemd/system/var-opt-snapcenter-sco-backup_verify-rhel2_demo_netapp_com_orcl_rhel2_12-09-2020_02.02.15.6102_0-orcl-1.mount -> /dev/null
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9 Dec  9 02:11 /etc/systemd/system/var-opt-snapcenter-sco-backup_verify-rhel2_demo_netapp_com_orcl_rhel2_12-09-2020_02.09.00.3082_0-orcl-1.mount -> /dev/null
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9 Dec  9 02:30 /etc/systemd/system/var-opt-snapcenter-sco-backup_verify-rhel2_demo_netapp_com_orcl_rhel2_12-09-2020_02.28.05.0975_0-orcl-1.mount -> /dev/null

  • spl_<verification_job_id>.log indicates that SCO executed systemctl mask to create the symlink.

Example:

2020-12-09T02:04:38.0634223+00:00 DEBUG: SCUPlugin: SCU::Utils::FSHelper::systemctl_filesystem_ops(): systemctl filesystem ops on the file system '/var/opt/snapcenter/sco/backup_verify/rhel2_demo_netapp_com_orcl_rhel2_12-09-2020_02.02.15.6102_0/orcl/1', mask value is '1'
