Issue

  • SCE backup fails with error like below.

Example:

Activity 'Creating Backup' failed with error: Error: Failed to add to snapshot set. [<DRIVE>:\] [Error Code: -2147212530] [VSS_E_VOLUME_NOT_SUPPORTED_BY_PROVIDER] [Error Code: -2147212530] [VSS_E_VOLUME_NOT_SUPPORTED_BY_PROVIDER]

  • Windows Application Event Log reports an error like below before the backup failure.

Example:

2020-04-17T01:01:12.6538514+09:00 Critical SDW PID=[2360] TID=[3720] Error: The credentials for the storage system <SVM> is not configured.  Resolution: Please check if storage system <SVM> is assigned to the user and is resolvable or add an entry to etc/hosts file.
