  • SnapCenter Plug-in for Oracle (SCO) 4.x
  • Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC)

Issue

Every Oracle RAC based Database registered in SnapCenter, even in a RAConeNode configuration, refers to a Host Group instead of a single Host reference.
To allow for a host to be in maintenance, it's possible to select  preferred hosts for the backup to go through in case of a host being offline or in maintenance.

However, if the Host Group ends up with only a single Host entry by changing a multi-node RAC Database into a RACOneNode database, and the preferred host list only contained one node, it is nolonger selected for the right host during initial discovery, and the backup fail:

ERROR: Job Failed:

Preferred hosts are not found or could be in maintenance mode. Configure preferences for resource
