SnapCenter Plug-in for Exchange (SCE)

Answer

  • SnapCenter treats each SERVER\Database as a separate entity and applies retention accordingly
    • SERVER1\DB1 and SERVER2\DB1 are the same database but on different servers
    • SnapCenter will treat each as individual entities and keep retention separately for each database copy
    • If a database copy is active on SERVER1 and is then activated on SERVER2, retention will not be applied on SERVER1 until the next backup runs on SERVER1

    2. Volume2 will contain snapshots dated 1/11 – 1/13 (3 days)
  5. DB1 is moved back to SERVER1
  6. SERVER1\DB1 is backed up on 4/13/2021
