Applies to

  • SnapCenter Server (SC) 4.1.1 and above
  • SnapCenter Plug-in for SQL (SCSQL) 4.1.1 and above
  • Disjoined Namespace

Issue

  • Unable add the SCSQL plug-in host from the SnapCenter GUI with error in Job Details: "Either the host is not reachable or access to the host is denied. Check if the connection to the host exists and verify if the specified
Run As name has permissions to access the host. The Run As name should be a domain administrator or a domain user with local administrator privileges for the host"
  • Get the same error using the PowerShell command Add-SmHosts

The error will stay even when:

  • All ports required are open
  • RunAs credentials are correct and part of the local administrators group on the plug-in host
