Cannot create a new iSCSI LUN from SnapCenter on a Windows 2019 host

Issue

  • Disk creation on a Windows 2019 SCW Plug-in host, from the SnapCenter server is not possible due to missing iSCSI initiator in the Map LUN tab:

  • the SCSI Sessions for the host are not visible in the Hosts-> iSCSI sessions even though they are established on the host
  • SCWDebug.log from the SCW Plug-in on the Windows 2019 host we see the error:

Verbose SDW PID=[####] TID=[####] query: SELECT * FROM MSiSCSIInitiator_SessionClass
Verbose SDW PID=[####] TID=[####] scope: \\<HOSTNAME>\root\wmi
Verbose SDW PID=[####] TID=[####] GetIscsiInitiatorSessions: manageObjectSearcher exception 'Provider load failure '
