MetroCluster why do Circle and Square ports show as empty in storage shelf show -instance?
Applies to
- Fabric MetroCluster
- ONTAP 9
Answer
Because of the way the shelves are cabled the end shelves or only shelf in a stack will have the circle or square port empty on IOM A or IOM B.
In this example the square port is empty in IOM B of shelf 30 and the circle port is empty in IOM A of shelf 39:
Shelf name: switch1:11.shelf30
