Loss of backend connections in MCCIP due to HSRP configuration during switch reboot

Issue

  • While one switch or pair of switches is rebooted in the MCCIP, all of the ISCSI connections to remote site are timing out
  • There is a total loss of connection to the remote site/disks despite having the alternate path on second pair of MCCIP switches available at this time
  • If ONTAP Mediator is configured and also becomes unreachable during the switch reboot, the controllers would halt with the following message

mia_mccip_local_write_partial_fail inst side:0 stats  online_site_mbx_vote_cnt:3 success:2  failure U:0 L:0 R:2 M:1  success U:0 L:2 R:0 M:0
