Error"eval: Out of space" when booting a new install of an AFF-A400 MetroCluster IP

Issue

  • When trying to boot a newly installed MetroCluster IP, the boot fails with a "eval: Out of space" error message. 
  • The out of space error will be preceded by the errors below:

sysctl: unknown oid 'dev.cc..ntxq'
sysctl: unknown oid 'dev.cc..max_speed'
eval: Out of space

  • When trying to Initialize a node (option 9b/9c from the boot menu) the node may appear to hang as shown below.

Node is initializing. Wait a few minutes, and then try
       the operation again.

  • It will allow you to enter a login and password, but will timeout every time:
