System Manager

Description: System Manager is a graphical management interface that enables management of storage systems and storage objects from a web browser.

  • Monitor and manage your storage systems and HA configurations
  • Provision storage for NAS and SAN environments
  • Configure protocols, such as CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, FC, and FCoE
  • Create and manage SnapMirror® and SnapVault® relationships
  • Create and manage Storage Virtual Machines (SVMs, formerly called Vservers)

Note: The support policy for OnCommand System Manager 3.1.3 (Offbox) aligns with the support policy for NetApp Data ONTAP operating in 7-Mode. The product will be fully supported until December 31, 2020, and will be available until December 31, 2022. This package will not be available for download from the NetApp Support site after December 31, 2022.

ActiveIQ Unified Manager

Description: NetApp ActiveIQ Unified Manager is a graphical management product that provides comprehensive monitoring and key management capabilities for NetApp ONTAP systems to help manage:

  • Availability
  • Capacity
  • Protection
  • Performance

Both Unified Manager releases offer the ability to report and alert on the monitored storage. No license is required for Active IQ Unified Manager.

OnCommand Unified Manager for Clustered Data Ontap (OCUM 7.0, 7.1)  can optionally be integrated with OnCommand Performance Manager (OPM).
If OCUM is integrated with OPM, you will see Performance in the grid drop down under Health. OPM can only be directly accessed when it is not integrated with OCUM.

OnCommand Unified Manager Core aka DFM

Description: OnCommand Unified Manager Core Package provides integrated policy-based data and storage management. It brings together multiple capabilities into a single integrated, policy-based data and storage management solution:

  • Operations Manager
  • Protection
  • Provisioning

Both Unified Manager releases offer the ability to report and alert on the monitored storage. OnCommand Unified Manager Core is a licensed product. You can obtain a free license by contacting your NetApp Account Team. Refer to KB How to obtain a license key of OnCommand Unified Manager Core Package.

Note: OnCommand Unified Manager 5.x transitioned to Limited Support on April 30, 2021, and will reach Self-Service Support on December 31, 2022. During the limited support time frame, no service updates or security patches will be provided.

Description: OnCommand Insight is designed to simplify operational management of hybrid IT infrastructures on public and private clouds as well as traditional on-premise environments. OnCommand Insight provides intelligent operations and business insights across the enterprise. OnCommand Workflow Automation

Description: OnCommand Workflow Automation (WFA) is a powerful framework that enables automation and delegation of all repeatable storage management andservice tasks, and it enables efficiency, flexibility, and repeatability of best practices in a NetApp storage infrastructure. WFA comes with predefined, supported base building blocks, including the capability to customize and extend the workflow templates to suit specific customer scenarios. It also features a REST Service API to allow WFA workflows to be triggered from an orchestration application. WFA also acts as a point of integration for third party actions.
 
Note:  OnCommand Workflow Automation (WFA) will reach end of availability in January 2022. For existing WFA customers, Workflow Automation 5.1 will be the version with full support until January 2025. Fixes for critical product and potential security issues for WFA are addressed as per support policy. Clustered Data ONTAP® storage management workflow packs are planned for upcoming ONTAP® releases until the end of CY 2021. No further releases are planned, and Workflow Automation 5.1 enters its end-of-life phase on February 1, 2025.

NetApp Service Level Manager

Description: NetApp Service Level Manager (NSLM) enables you to manage your storage infrastructure based on Performance Service Levels and Storage Efficiency Policies. NSLM enables the delivery of storage as a service from your existing and new NetApp ONTAP software-based storage systems. You benefit from higher resource utilization and lower operational expenses while maintaining the convenience,security, and control of having your data on premise. NSLM provides storage provider APIs, and GUI for provisioning, monitoring, and managing storage workloads in a data center.

OnCommand API Services (EOVS)

Description: OnCommand API Services provides an application programming interface (API) through which partner applications can issue programmatic requests to execute specified data storage provisioning, monitoring, and information retrieval operations on ONTAP, Cloud ONTAP, and ONTAP Select systems.

OnCommand Plugin for Microsoft (EOVS)

Description: OnCommand Plug-in for Microsoft is a tool that you can use to configure, monitor, and manage your storage. The plug-in includes management packs for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), SCOM 2012 R2, and SCOM 2016. You can use the management packs in SCOM to monitor and receive alerts.

OnCommand Performance Manager (EOVS)

Description: OnCommand Performance Manager provides performance monitoring and event root-cause analysis of systems running NetApp ONTAP software. It is the performance management part of OnCommand Unified Manager.

  • Helps you to identify workloads that are overusing cluster components and decreasing the performance of other workloads on the cluster.
  • Alerts you to these performance events so that you can take corrective action and return performance back to normal operation.
  • You can view and analyze events in the Performance Manager UI or view them in the Unified Manager UI.

OnCommand Performance Manager (OPM 7.x) - Not integrated with OCUM
Note 1 - If OPM is fully integrated with OCUM, the UI will not be accessible from OPM's Name or IP address. Instead, navigate to OCUM and select "Performance" from the grid drop down.
Note 2 - OnCommand Performance Manager reached End of Version Support on December 31, 2018.
All OPM functionality has been integrated into OnCommand Unified Manager 7.2 and later and into Active IQ Unified Manager 9.6 and later.
