The Save button will be disabled and grayed out as a result of the error, in to prevent the user from saving the new cluster into WFA.

Additional log observations:

  1. When attempting to add the SolidFire cluster with the hostname, the following message may be seen within the  LOG_WFA.LOG log file within a WFA AutoSupport.

Note: The wfa log file is also present available on <installed_WFA_path>\Program Files\NetApp\WFA\jboss\standalone\log\wfa.log in Windows-based platforms and  /opt/netapp/wfa/jboss/standalone/log.war/jboss/wfa.log in Linux-based platforms.

2020-04-22 00:57:15,428 ERROR [com.netapp.wfa.ui.ExecutionFacadeImpl] (default task-52) Failed to resolve the host name 'FQDN-OF-WFA' to IP address.

  1. Similarly when providing the IP address of the SolidFire cluster as a credential and clicking on the Test button, WFA will record the following (false-positive) message in wfa.log. Despite what the error message below states, SolidFire cluster will have unexpired SSL certificates upon verification.
Credential with expired certificate is not testable.
