Failed to log in to DWH cognos portal(7.2 or earlier) error: "DPR-GTY-5003" or "CAM-CRP-1064 Unable to process the PKCS #7" or "CAM-CRP-1093 Unable to read the contents of the keystore"

Issue
An attempt to log in to the DWH reporting portal fails with Invalid credentials error and the following error in the logs:
CAM-CRP-1064 Unable to process the PKCS #7

CAM-CRP-1093 Unable to read the contents of the keystore
When restarting the Cognos services from IBM Cognos Configuration Window, the PKCS / Certificate key errors are reported:
