How to collect support data for NetApp E-Series Storage Arrays

Description

  • This article describes the procedure to collect support data for NetApp E-Series storage arrays via the 3 available methods:
    • SANtricity System Manager
    • SANtricity Storage Manager
    • SANtricity Command Line Interface

Procedure

SANtricity System Manager
  1. Open E-Series storage array via the controller IP address in the browser
  2. From left-side pane, select Support
  3. Select Support Center
  4. Select Diagnostics tab
  5. Select Collect Support Data.
  6. Click Collect
  7. Save the file to a location of your choosing.
SANtricity Storage Manager
  1. Open SANtricity Storage Manager
  2. Open E-Series storage array Array Management Window
  3. Click Summary tab
  4. In Monitor section, click Collect Support Data Manually

The Collect AutoSupport Data window opens.

  1. Click Browse
  2. Specify where you want to save the support bundle and enter a name for the support bundle file
  3. Click Save
  4. In the Collect AutoSupport Data window, click Start

How to collect an E-Series support bundle via SANtricity command line interface

Notes:

  • The support bundle will be generated and saved. This process may take several minutes.
  • The resulting file can be sent to NetApp Support Center either attached in an e-mail or uploaded here.
  • If the file is too large to be sent through email or the upload.netapp.com site is blocked, please contact your NetApp Support representative for alternate methods to transfer the support data.
