Are the cluster/aggregate IOPS values shown in UM graphs absolute numbers?
Applies to
ActiveIQ Unified Manager (UM) all versions
Answer
No.
- The IOPS values for aggregates are calculated based on IOPS values of Disks, ofcertain points in time.Maximum values of IOPS of Disks are part of the calculation. So the final number is not an absolute IOPS value.
- For Cluster IOPS, all the operations in the cluster are affecting. Those are WAFL operations such as dedup, which give a total number of IOPS which again is getting into a formula and then presented to the user.
Additional Information
As a result, we can't just add all the aggregate IOPS values and expect that this will be the same number of what we see in Cluster IOPS.
