AIQUM  installation fails in RHEL with custom installation directory and symlinks

  • ActiveIQ Unified Manager(AIQUM) 9.6+
  • RedHat Linux (RHEL) installation

Issue

  • Installation of AIQUM 9.11 on RHEL 7.x fails
  • Installation done on custom direcotory (for eg: /appdata) instead of /opt/netapp
  • Symbolic links  created before installation:
 
ln -s /appdata/mysql /opt/mysql
ln -s /appdata/netapp /opt/netapp
 
  • Install log ends with complete status but the services failed to start
  • Message in Install log:

Failed to start Active IQ Management Server services.
warning: %post(netapp-um-9.11-2206150030.el7.x86_64) scriptletfailed, exit status 255
