Trident fails to provision PVCs giving a storageclass not found error

Issue

When trying to create the PV from the PVC, the trident-csi-provisioner fails with the following error message:
E<month><day> <TIME> 1 controller.go:956] error syncing claim "<UUID>": failed to provision volume with StorageClass "basic": rpc error: code = Unknown desc = unknown storage class: basic
