What are SaaS deprovisioned users?

Answer

  • De-provisioned users are Microsoft Office 365 inactive users disabled from  Azure Active Directory
    Example: employee who has left the company
  • SaaS UI location: Services > Exchange Online > Unprotected Mailboxes > De-provisioned tab
  • Data can be restored from here, if the de-provisioned user has backup data.

Additional Information

"What happens to my data and access when my Office 365 for business subscription ends?"

  • SaaS Backup will not remove the deprovisioned items. They will be retained as long as the retention period is set.
  • If you want to delete it deliberately, then you have to use the Purge functionality
