Description

This article walks through how to enable https for Cinder volume backends by using CA signed certificates.  The environment this guide is based on is:

  • ONTAP 9.5
  • OpenStack Stein
  • OpenSSL CA (Certificate Authority)

Note: This procedure was tested where Openstack services are runing locally on the Openstack controller (a systemd deployment).  This procedure has not been tested where Openstack services are running in containers (such as with a kolla-ansible install) or in an environment using a floating or virtual IP address.
