Why do I see FAKE Files in Global File Cache

Answer

GFC/Talon uses the “FAKE” file to proactively refresh the directory and update the metadata. This is not an issue and this object should not be visible. The reason user A sees that is because the client machines Folder Options are set to Show all folders.

If you don’t want users to see FAKE Files, perform the following the steps from the clients PC. 

  1. Open Folder Options
  2. View Tab
  3. Uncheck Show All Folders
  4. Click Apply
