Description

FabricPool combines flash (high cost performance tier) with s3 object stores in a single aggregate. The s3 object store can be NetApp StorageGrid or third party service provider.

Cloud Volumes ONTAP :
It is recommended to have the production environment on 8-core and 16-core Cloud Volumes ONTAP configuration.

FabricPool will work on a 4-core Cloud Volumes ONTAP configuraiton; however, it is not recommended for any production environment.

  1. FabricPool performance tier must be all SSD disks. No HDD configurations are supported unless the ONTAP version is 9.8 and above.

  2. FabricPool license is required if using AWS S3 object store. Licenses are capacity based; that is, license will restrict the amount of data that can be tiered to capacity tier.

There is no license required for SWGS as capacity tier.
