Issue

  • Messages displayed in EMS during and after reboot of VMs :

vsa.scheduledEvent.scheduled:alert: Cloud provider event scheduled for node "node-01". Type: freeze. 20:11:37.
Call home for USER_TRIGGERED (TEST:MAINT=1h Cloud Provider Maintenance Event. Status: scheduled. Type: freeze. VM: node-vm1.)
Call home for NODE(S) OUT OF CLUSTER QUORUM.
Call home for CONTROLLER TAKEOVER COMPLETE MANUAL
Call home for PARTNER REBOOT (CONTROLLER TAKEOVER)
vsa.scheduledEvent.update:notice]: Cloud provider event status update for node "node-01". ID: AAAA-AAAA-AAAA-AAAA-AAAA. Type: freeze. Status: started.
vsa.scheduledEvent.update:notice]: Cloud provider event status update for node "node-01".Type: freeze. Status: complete.

  • Cluster running in Degraded state. Warning message states: Failed to initiate giveback. Run the "storage failover show-giveback"
  • Unexplained node takeover / failover
  • Commands that try to get information from the down node will return:
    Warning: Unable to list entries on node NODE1. RPC: Couldn't make connection [from mgwd on node "NODE1" (VSID: #) to mgwd at XX.XX.XX.XX]
  • Giveback is failing due to non-CA file locks
  • Console event: monitor.globalStatus.critical:EMERGENCY]: Controller failover of <node> is not possible: unsynchronized log.
