Answer

To clear discovered capacity from Cloud Insights to free up MUs, the data source that discovered the storage (sometimes referred to as the "originator") must be deleted. Excluding a device from inventory collections in the data source configuration will not remove capacity that was already discovered in a previous collection. However, if the device exclusion is added prior to the first inventory collection then that will prevent the excluded device's storage from contributing to capacity MUs.
