  • CIFS continuous availability (CA)

Answer

  • Yes, ANF supports CA shares, however it's functionality is limited with respect to other ONTAP solutions.
  • Because ANF environments involve one LIF per SVM, the witness protocol is not functional to alert the client in the event of a disruption
  • Persistent handles are only retained for 60 seconds, so effective utilization of CA to reclaim persistent handles requires the client to reconnect within 60 seconds
