Resizing PVCs with the Trident driver is not working

Applies to

  • (Astra) Trident for Kubernetes and Openshift 19.07 and higher
  • Openshift 3.11 or higher
  • Kubernetes 1.14 or higher

Issue

  • Attempting to resize the ontap-nas backend PVC, as documented, doesn't resize the ONTAP NFS volume
  • When looking at the Trident's logs, no attempts or errpor regarding resizing can be found
  • The only items that indicate involvement are visible from the trident-controller-sidecar-csi-resizer log:

I1019 08:08:48.548961 1 controller.go:979] Final error received, removing PVC <UUID> from claims in progress
I1019 08:08:48.548965 1 controller.go:902] Provisioning succeeded, removing PVC <UUID> from claims in progress
